Financial Wellness and Legacy Planning

Pension Club International (PCI) hosted a successful members breakfast on 30th June 2026 bringing together a diverse community of students, young professionals, working professionals, entrepreneurs, and retirees for a morning of learning, networking, and meaningful conversations on financial wellbeing and purposeful living.

The breakfast reflected PCI's commitment to creating a platform where individuals at every stage of life can access practical knowledge, build valuable connections, and prepare for a financially secure future. By bringing together different generations in one room, the event created a unique opportunity for participants to learn from each other's experiences and perspectives.

Opening the event, the PCI Convenor Marion Nyariki  welcomed participants and reaffirmed the Club's belief that financial security is not achieved by chance but through intentional planning, continuous learning, and informed decision-making. She encouraged attendees to actively engage in the discussions, network with one another, and leave the event with practical insights that would positively influence their financial journeys.

Conversations That Matter

The breakfast featured insightful presentations from distinguished speakers who addressed key aspects of financial wellbeing and long-term planning.

Mike Kilongosi, a Counselling Psychologist, spoke on the importance of mental wellness as a critical pillar of overall wellbeing. He highlighted the connection between emotional health, financial decision-making, and life transitions, reminding participants that preparing for the future involves not only financial readiness but also maintaining resilience, purpose, and healthy relationships.

Our  keynote presentation was delivered by Paul Ouma, a Family Business Advisor, who shared valuable insights on building sustainable family businesses and preserving wealth across generations. He  challenged participants to think beyond individual success and focus on creating structures that protect family wealth, encourage responsible succession planning, and build lasting legacies.

Through practical examples and engaging discussions, participants gained a deeper appreciation of the importance of intentional planning, governance, and communication in ensuring that wealth continues to benefit future generations.

Learning Across Generations

One of the defining features of the breakfast was the diversity of its participants. Students had the opportunity to interact with experienced professionals and retirees, while seasoned professionals shared lessons from their own financial journeys.

These intergenerational conversations reinforce  the idea that financial literacy is a lifelong journey. Whether someone is just beginning their career, actively building wealth, running a business, or preparing for retirement, every stage presents opportunities to learn, grow, and make better financial decisions.

The networking session enabled participants to establish new professional relationships, exchange ideas, and explore opportunities for collaboration beyond the event.

Strengthening PCI's Community

The breakfast also served as an important platform for strengthening PCI's community and expanding its reach. Participants expressed strong interest in the Club's programmes, upcoming events, and membership opportunities, reaffirming PCI's growing role as a trusted platform for financial education, retirement preparedness, and professional networking.

As PCI continues to grow, the Club remains committed to delivering programmes that respond to the evolving needs of its members while fostering meaningful partnerships that create long-term value.

Looking Ahead

The success of the breakfast demonstrates the importance of creating spaces where meaningful conversations about financial wellness, mental wellbeing, investment, entrepreneurship, and retirement can take place. PCI extends its sincere appreciation to all participants, speakers, and partners who contributed to the success of the event. Your engagement, insights, and commitment made the morning both impactful and memorable. Together, we are Building Connections for Posterity.
